A man is recovering in the hospital after being stabbed near the 800 block of MacLeod Trail on Monday afternoon.
Around 12:20 p.m., the injured man approached security guards and told them he had been stabbed. He was taken to Rockyview General Hospital in stable condition. Thankfully, the injuries were not life-threatening. Paramedics said the wound looked like a soft tissue injury, not a deep stab.
Police believe the attack happened in a nearby parkade, but the exact location is still not clear. Emergency services were first called near the Calgary Municipal Building, though it’s possible the stabbing happened elsewhere.
The Calgary Police Service is looking for a male suspect. He is about 5 feet 10 inches tall and was last seen wearing a grey and black hoodie and a mask.
Police officers are still in the area, talking to people and collecting information. They are asking anyone who may have seen something or knows anything about the incident to please contact them.
This investigation is still ongoing.
