The Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) has formally transferred its investigation files concerning senior military officers to the public prosecutor for assessment and subsequent action.

Confirmed by MACC Chief Commissioner Tan Sri Azam Baki, the submission includes recommended charges. He indicated that updates will follow as decisions are made by the prosecution team.

This development follows enforcement actions that led to the arrest of 23 individuals in two significant operations, Ops Parasit and Ops Star. Among those apprehended were two high-ranking military officers and four officials.

Azam explained that the investigation pertains to alleged corruption and misuse of authority relevant to the procurement of defense contracts and public fund utilization. The case includes accusations of bribery from various firms tied to military procurement.

These contracts are associated with the Armed Forces Welfare Fund and the Ministry of Defence, raising alarms due to their connections with key national institutions.

The investigation commenced on October 7, 2025, and is regarded as highly sensitive due to the seniority of those involved. Azam remarked on the case's significant public interest, highlighting its effects on transparency, accountability, and the public’s confidence in defense governance.

Authorities have reaffirmed their dedication to ensuring that the judicial process unfolds appropriately, emphasizing that all actions are compliant with legal standards.
