This news was confirmed by Sheikh Eng. Hamoud Mubarak Hamoud Al-Sabah, Chairman of the General Authority of Civil Aviation. The Kuwait News Agency reported that the reopening follows extensive coordination with international agencies to ensure that safety and security protocols are upheld as operations recommence.
Air traffic is set to resume gradually in a managed approach, with technical teams already engaged in maintenance and repair of the affected facilities and operational systems.
Sheikh Hamoud Al-Sabah emphasized that the aviation sector is well-prepared to swiftly restore normal operations. He also expressed gratitude to Saudi Arabia for facilitating Kuwaiti flights through its airspace during the interruption.
Additionally, he acknowledged the cooperation from Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) nations and commended the collective efforts that expedited this reopening, illustrating strong regional unity in crisis management.
