In Kuala Lumpur, a significant criminal case has unfolded where six men, including a police officer, have faced charges for a series of armed robberies resulting in losses of RM4.4 million.

Among the accused is Deputy Superintendent Ahmad Ruzaini Ahmad Dahalan, along with five other defendants, all of whom entered not guilty pleas in various Sessions Courts.

Prosecutors allege that the group executed planned attacks in residential neighborhoods around Kepong, where they intimidated victims with firearms, instilling fear among residents.

Authorities confirmed that the involved police officer, previously with the Commercial Crime Investigation Department, has been suspended since January and is suspected to have played a significant role in these robberies.

The allegations include armed robbery under stringent firearms laws, which could lead to severe consequences, including substantial prison sentences and corporal punishment upon conviction.

Reports indicate that the gang is linked to the theft of high-end vehicles, such as a Rolls-Royce, a Bentley, and a Toyota Alphard, alongside cash, foreign currency, jewelry, and gold bars.

These offenses reportedly took place in the early hours of April 5 in a residential locality of Desa ParkCity, raising security concerns in affluent neighborhoods.

Given the gravity of the charges, no bail has been permitted, and the court has set the next hearing date for May 25 as investigations proceed.

This case has captured public attention, particularly due to the involvement of an active police officer, raising significant questions regarding accountability and oversight in law enforcement.
