Kamaal Rashid Khan, known as KRK, has been detained by Mumbai authorities following a shooting incident in Oshiwara, Andheri, where he is identified as the main suspect.

He was taken into custody by officers from the Oshiwara police late Friday evening. During interrogation, KRK admitted to using his licensed weapon to discharge two rounds. The gun has been confiscated, and the legal processing for the investigation is currently in motion.

The incident occurred on January 18 when gunshots were fired at a residential complex in Nalanda Society, Oshiwara. One of the affected flats belongs to a writer-director, while another is home to a model. Investigators found two bullets—one from the second floor and another from the fourth floor.

An extensive team of 18 from the Oshiwara police, led by Sanjay Chavan, has been collaborating with various crime branch units to delve into the case. Initial challenges arose when CCTV footage failed to show any irregular activity. However, forensic assessments indicated that KRK’s bungalow could be the source of the gunfire.

Sources have noted that formal arrest protocols are being finalized and could be completed by the following morning. The inquiry remains active, with law enforcement analyzing all available evidence before deciding on the next steps.

The incident has sparked significant public discourse, highlighting safety issues and concerns regarding firearm misuse in residential areas. Authorities have asserted their commitment to taking stringent measures once legal processes are completed.
