Actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut has extended her congratulations to the BJP and its leaders, including Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, celebrating their remarkable success in the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) elections.
This victory holds personal meaning for Kangana, as her office was demolished by the BMC under Shiv Sena rule in 2020. With Shiv Sena ousted from power, she views the election results as a form of justice.
“I am thrilled by the BJP’s triumphant victory in the Maharashtra BMC elections. My sincere congratulations to Prime Minister Modi ji, Chief Minister Fadnavis ji, and the entire Maharashtra BJP team for this phenomenal achievement,” Kangana remarked.
Recalling her past struggles, Kangana stated, “Those who subjected me to intimidation, demolished my office, and attempted to force me out of Maharashtra have now faced rejection from the masses.”
She commended the electorate for delivering a stern message to what she termed “women-haters, bullies, and the nepotism mafia.”
Current reports show that out of 210 declared seats in Mumbai, the BJP leads in 90 wards, while Eknath Shinde’s faction of Shiv Sena secures 28. The Ajit Pawar-led NCP, participating separately, is ahead in only three.
Among the opposition, the UBT faction of Shiv Sena leads in 57 wards, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena in nine, the Congress in 15, and others in eight.
This significant outcome marks the conclusion of Shiv Sena (UBT)’s enduring dominance in the BMC. The BJP contested 137 seats, while the Shiv Sena fielded 90, with NCP factions running individual candidates, showcasing the fragmented state of the electoral contest.
Additionally, results from the Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad municipal elections reflect a decline in influence for the Pawar-led factions, as voters failed to unite despite strategic alliances.
This election represents a pivotal political transformation in Mumbai, firmly entrenching the BJP’s authority over the city’s most affluent municipal entity after years of opposition control.
