Popstar Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau have seemingly confirmed dating rumours after being seen sharing a kiss aboard Perry’s yacht in Santa Barbara, California. Viral photos circulating online show the pair enjoying a relaxed afternoon together, putting months of speculation to rest.

The sighting follows earlier reports suggesting the couple had grown distant, with sources claiming Trudeau was “uncomfortable” with media attention after a Montreal dinner date. However, the recent photos depict the duo looking cosy and affectionate. Perry is seen in a black swimsuit as Trudeau, shirtless, kisses her on the lips and cheek, with both embracing warmly.

A witness told media outlets, “She pulled up her boat next to a small public whale-watching boat, then they started making out. I didn’t realise who she was with until I saw the tattoo on the guy’s arm, and I immediately realised it was Justin Trudeau.”

The pair first went public in July this year during a dinner date in Montreal, with Trudeau later attending Perry’s sold-out Lifetimes tour stop in Canada.

Perry’s personal life has been in the spotlight recently, following her split from actor Orlando Bloom in June 2025 after seven years together and six years of engagement. The two continue to co-parent their daughter, Daisy Dove, born in August 2020.

Trudeau, meanwhile, announced his separation from his wife Sophie Grégoire Trudeau in August 2023 after 18 years of marriage. The former couple share three children: Xavier, 17, Ella-Grace, 16, and Hadrien, 11.
