In a tragic incident, a 28-year-old Indian national lost his life under unexplained circumstances at a popular music festival in Phuket, Thailand, on January 18. This event shocked festival attendees both locally and from abroad.
The deceased, identified as Jain Saksham, had participated in the Electric Daisy Carnival (EDC), a well-known three-day international music gathering held in Cherng Talay. Following the festival, he was seen in a nearby parking lot, where he climbed onto a parked pickup truck. Eyewitnesses described him as appearing disoriented and aggressive, as he reportedly damaged multiple vehicles along Bandon-Choeng Thale Road.
Emergency services were alerted and quickly transported Saksham to Thalang Hospital, where doctors discovered he was in shock and lost consciousness shortly after his arrival. Despite medical efforts, he sadly passed away, and the precise cause of death remains unknown.
Authorities noted that there were no visible injuries or signs of foul play on his body. An autopsy has been mandated at Vachira Phuket Hospital to uncover the reasons behind this sudden passing. Police are also exploring other factors such as potential substance use or pre-existing health issues.
The Indian embassy is working with local officials to inform the family, and once the autopsy concludes, his relatives will be able to retrieve his remains for final rites.
This incident has sparked concern among festival-goers and the local community, emphasizing the critical need for enhanced safety measures at large-scale public events.
