Indian Man Brutally Killed in Dallas: Suspect Arrested, Investigation Underway

Dallas, USA: A shocking and violent incident in Dallas has left the community in deep shock. Chandra Nagamallaiah, a 50-year-old Indian national and manager of a Dallas motel, was brutally attacked and beheaded by a man identified as Yordanis Cobos-Martinez. The horrific attack took place in front of Nagamallaiah’s wife and son, leaving them traumatized.

Fatal Argument Sparks Deadly Attack

According to Dallas police and eyewitness accounts, the incident began with an argument over a broken washing machine at the motel. Nagamallaiah had asked Cobos-Martinez not to use the machine and instructed someone else to communicate his request. The argument escalated, and Cobos-Martinez left the scene.

He returned armed with a machete and attacked Nagamallaiah. Police reports state that Cobos-Martinez struck the victim multiple times and eventually decapitated him. The suspect then kicked the severed head into the parking lot and placed it in a dumpster before fleeing the scene.

Arrest and Confession

Cobos-Martinez was arrested shortly after the attack. He was found wearing a blood-stained T-shirt, still holding the machete, and in possession of the victim’s key card and cell phone. Investigators reported that he confessed to the killing during a recorded interview.

Dallas Police Executive Assistant Chief Terrence Rhodes confirmed that the suspect had cut Nagamallaiah “several times” before the decapitation. Authorities are continuing the investigation.

Victim and Family Trauma

Chandra Nagamallaiah, known as Bob to friends, was attacked in front of his wife and son. Witnesses said the family tried to protect him, but Cobos-Martinez continued the assault. Friends described the event as “sick and disturbing”, highlighting the trauma experienced by the family.

The Indian government expressed deep sorrow and concern over the attack. The Consulate General of India in Houston stated that it is in touch with the family and offering all possible assistance.

Suspect’s Criminal Record

Cobos-Martinez, 37, has a record of previous crimes, including auto theft in Florida and charges of indecency with a child and assault in Houston. U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) stated that the suspect should not have been free in the United States, blaming delays in deportation flights to Cuba for his presence in the country.
