Napoli showcased their dominance in Serie A with a solid 2-0 win over Cremonese this Sunday, largely thanks to an impressive performance from Danish forward Rasmus Hojlund, who netted both goals. This victory keeps Napoli tightly in the title race, now just one point behind AC Milan.

Earlier, AC Milan secured a comfortable 3-0 victory against Hellas Verona, maintaining their lead with 35 points. Napoli sits close behind with 34 points, and Inter Milan, currently third with 33 points, may change the standings if they win against Atalanta later today.

Having just claimed the Italian Super Cup with a 2-0 success over Bologna, Napoli appeared energized and ready to compete, showing no signs of post-celebration fatigue.

Hojlund opened the scoring in the 13th minute, capitalizing on a deflected shot that fell perfectly for him. He skillfully slotted it home from close range, giving his team an early advantage.

Just before halftime, during stoppage, Hojlund struck again, finding a loose ball near the back post and finishing accurately to secure a two-goal lead.

The second half saw Napoli generating numerous opportunities, but despite their best efforts, they were unable to add to their score.

The 22-year-old striker has made a significant impact since his arrival at Napoli earlier this season, with six goals and two assists across 12 Serie A matches. Reflecting on his success, Hojlund attributed it to the talent surrounding him.

Napoli’s coach, Antonio Conte, commended Hojlund's rapid development, acknowledging his youth and potential. “He is a very young player with lots of room to grow. He is becoming dominant in his position and well connected with the team,” Conte noted, adding, “In my system, the striker plays a crucial role, and Rasmus has a huge margin to improve further.”

This victory sustains Napoli's pressure on AC Milan, keeping their aspirations for the Serie A title alive as the season unfolds.
