The third edition of the Hatta Farming Festival, part of the 'Dubai Farms' initiative from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, has been officially announced by Dubai Municipality. This year, the festival takes place at Hatta Leem Lake and will continue until February 1, featuring Emirati farmers, estate proprietors, and agricultural enterprises.

As part of the 'Hatta Winter' campaign initiated by Brand Dubai, the event highlights the tourism and agricultural attributes of Hatta under the #DubaiDestinations banner. It aims to bolster Hatta’s appeal as a significant agri-tourism and eco-tourism site in the UAE.

This edition offers expanded participation, with diverse farms and companies presenting innovative agricultural solutions and products. For the first time, both governmental and private organizations are involved, supporting People of Determination through workshops and product showcases. This aligns with Dubai's goal of nurturing young farmers and fostering agricultural growth.

Additionally, Dubai Municipality has unveiled support packages totaling AED 3.7 million for farmers in Hatta, covering the distribution of seeds and fertilizers, agricultural consultancy, pest management assistance, and the initiation of three projects incorporating advanced agricultural technologies.

Marwan Ahmed bin Ghalita, Director General of Dubai Municipality, highlighted the festival as a vital venue for farmers and local producers to connect with market opportunities, training initiatives, and advisory resources. He emphasized that this initiative enhances food security, promotes sustainable farming, and fosters rural development and community wellbeing.

The festival is free to the public and includes platforms for selling local agricultural products, livestock competitions, training sessions, and consultancy services, as well as prizes for farmers and participants. Hatta residents can engage without charge, with fees for temporary food activities being waived.

The Hatta Farming Festival facilitates a convergence of farmers, consumers, and supportive organizations, advocating sustainable agriculture, knowledge sharing, and local produce. The event also fosters community engagement through workshops, competitions, and dynamic activities that promote a healthy and sustainable lifestyle in Hatta.

Dubai Municipality stated that the festival exemplifies its commitment to creating a sustainable and livable Dubai by empowering farmers, enhancing biodiversity, bolstering the green economy, and improving the quality of life in the Hatta region.
