Unified Pension Awareness Campaign Launched by GCC Authorities

Post by : Bianca Hayes

The collective pension and social security bodies within the GCC have initiated a comprehensive awareness campaign named “Insurance Protection... Under a GCC Umbrella”. This effort signifies enhanced regional collaboration, aiming to deepen understanding of pension entitlements across the member states.

This campaign primarily targets GCC nationals employed abroad within the Gulf region. It seeks to elucidate their pension rights and facilitate their access to the Unified Extension Protection System (UEPS), which ensures their ongoing social security coverage across the GCC member countries.

Simultaneously rolled out across all GCC countries, this initiative is part of broader efforts to foster integration and aid the mobility of the workforce. It guarantees continuous contributions and benefits for employees as they transition between different GCC nation-states.

The Unified System serves as a safety net for employees, safeguarding their past service and financial contributions, thereby supporting their long-term financial security and social welfare throughout the region.

The objective of this campaign is to elevate awareness concerning critical topics such as insurance benefits available to workers and their families, the legal obligations of employees and employers, and pension contribution regulations.

Targeting both government and private employers, GCC nationals working within the region, and various media outlets, this outreach initiative aims for extensive awareness and engagement.

To maximize impact, the campaign will leverage digital media, traditional outlets, and official social media accounts from pension authorities, along with interactive workshops designed to actively involve the public.

All official channels will be available for public inquiries, ensuring a deeper comprehension of the system while promoting the objectives of this unified GCC endeavor.
