Tragic Georgia Shooting Claims Lives of Four, Including Indian National

A tragic shooting incident in Georgia has resulted in the deaths of four individuals, including an Indian national, as confirmed by the Indian consulate in Atlanta. This event, believed to stem from a family dispute, took place in Lawrenceville early on Friday morning.

The Consulate General of India in Atlanta released a statement expressing sorrow over the event, assuring that the responsible party has been apprehended. The consulate also indicated that they are extending all available support to the grieving family.

Authorities have reported that the suspect, Vijay Kumar (51), a resident of Atlanta, is in custody facing serious charges related to the fatalities.

The deceased victims include Meemu Dogra (43), Gourav Kumar (33), Nidhi Chander (37), and Harish Chander (38). Investigators revealed that all four adults succumbed to gunshot wounds found inside the residence.

The emergency services were alerted at approximately 2:30 AM local time from a home on Brook Ivy Court. Responding officers discovered the victims' bodies shortly after arriving at the scene.

Three children were also in the home during the shooting; they reportedly took refuge in a closet. One child was able to dial 911, providing critical information that facilitated a swift response from authorities.

Fortunately, the children were unharmed and were later taken by a relative, as confirmed by police.

Multiple charges have been brought against Kumar, including several counts of murder, aggravated assault, and child cruelty. The investigation is ongoing, but authorities have yet to disclose further motive details.
