Fallout Season 2: Chaos, New Faces, and Wasteland Adventures

Actor Walton Goggins revealed at the London premiere on Tuesday, "You can play it two ways. You can play it safe, rely on what happened in season one, or you can go for broke. And we went for broke."

Based on the iconic video game franchise, the live-action series follows three main characters: former vault dweller Lucy (Ella Purnell), Maximus of the Brotherhood of Steel (Aaron Moten), and Cooper Howard, aka The Ghoul (Goggins), a mutated bounty hunter and former movie star.

Season two picks up where the first left off, with Lucy searching for her father Hank (Kyle MacLachlan) and teaming up with The Ghoul for a post-apocalyptic journey through the Mojave Desert to New Vegas.

Executive producer Jonathan Nolan teased, "More madness, more humour, more violence. We just try to outdo ourselves."

Ella Purnell added that audiences will see a new side to Lucy, whose optimistic outlook now clashes with The Ghoul's nihilism. "She's in the wasteland now and she has to survive. You can't always do that by being nice," Purnell said.

The season also introduces Justin Theroux as Robert House, ruler of the New Vegas Strip and a major character in the franchise. "It's a bit intimidating," Theroux admitted. "The fans of the game and the show are like shareholders—you don’t want to disappoint them."

Joining the cast are Macaulay Culkin and Kumail Nanjiani, alongside a host of new creatures brought to life by puppeteers.

The eight-episode second season of Fallout starts streaming on Prime Video from December 17, with new episodes released weekly.
