Emirates to Launch Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi on All Flights by 2027

Post by : Bianca Hayes

Emirates is poised to elevate its in-flight offerings by implementing Starlink Wi-Fi throughout its active fleet, beginning with the Boeing 777 models as early as November 2025. The airline aims to finalize this fleetwide integration by the middle of 2027, ensuring travelers enjoy ultra-fast, internet service akin to ground standards while soaring at cruising altitude.

This new capability will enable passengers to stream content, engage in online gaming, make voice calls, and conduct work on both the personal devices and seatback screens without a hitch. Emirates is tasked with upgrading around 14 aircraft each month, swiftly moving through its fleet of 232 planes. Notably, the installation on Airbus A380 flights is set to commence in February 2026.

Each Boeing 777 will utilize two Starlink antennas, while the A380 will feature an unprecedented three-antenna setup, ensuring broad coverage and superior connectivity off all cabin classes. Live television via Starlink will debut on personal devices, with plans for later inclusion on seatback screens by late December 2025.

Passengers will have access to this Wi-Fi service entirely free of charge, requiring only a simple one-click access feature with no financial commitments or memberships necessary. The inaugural Boeing 777-300ER, A6-EPF, which showcased this service during the Dubai Airshow, has already been outfitted for high-speed connectivity on the ground.

This development is part of Emirates’ continuous enhancement of its cabin experiences, which includes new Premium Economy sections, updated Business and First Class offerings, and state-of-the-art entertainment systems. This commitment guarantees that travelers receive top-tier experiences consistently across various routes and aircraft.

With this initiative, Emirates strategically positions itself as a leader in in-flight connectivity, aimed at providing frequent fliers with reliable internet access that boosts productivity, entertainment, and communication opportunities during air travel.
