East Bengal FC delivered an impressive performance to defeat Odisha FC 3-0 in their Indian Super League 2025-26 match at Margao, Goa. The important victory helped East Bengal strengthen their position in the league table and continue their push toward the top spots in the competition.
The Red and Gold Brigade dominated the match from the opening minutes and showed better control, attacking movement, and finishing throughout the game. Goals from Bipin Singh and a second-half brace from Youssef Ezzejjari sealed a comfortable victory for the Kolkata-based side.
With this result, East Bengal moved to fourth place in the ISL standings with 18 points from nine matches, while Odisha FC remained near the bottom of the table with only six points. Bipin Singh was later named the Man of the Match for his strong all-round display, which included one goal and one assist.
East Bengal started the game aggressively and almost scored within the first few minutes as they continuously attacked Odisha’s defense. The breakthrough finally came in the 11th minute after a well-constructed move on the left side. PV Vishnu made a smart run before sending a low cross into the penalty area, where Bipin Singh arrived unmarked and calmly tapped the ball into the net to give East Bengal an early lead.
After scoring the opener, East Bengal continued to dominate possession and created several chances through quick passing and attacking movement. Vishnu remained dangerous on the wing, while midfielders Saúl Crespo and Nandhakumar controlled the pace of the game from central areas.
Odisha FC struggled to build momentum during the first half and mainly depended on counterattacks for opportunities. Forward Rahim Ali showed occasional attacking intent, but East Bengal goalkeeper Prabhsukhan Gill handled the limited threats comfortably. Gill also produced an important save before halftime to deny Rahim Ali and maintain his team’s lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern as East Bengal controlled possession while Odisha found it difficult to create clear chances in the final third. The pressure eventually produced a second goal in the 70th minute. Another dangerous delivery from PV Vishnu created confusion inside the Odisha penalty area, and substitute Youssef Ezzejjari reacted quickly to score from close range after goalkeeper Anuj Kumar failed to clear the ball properly.
East Bengal continued attacking even after doubling their advantage and completely sealed the match in the 84th minute. Substitute Mawihmingthanga played an excellent pass to release Bipin Singh on the right wing. Bipin then delivered a composed cut-back into the box where Ezzejjari finished calmly for his second goal of the night and East Bengal’s third overall.
Odisha FC attempted to respond in the final minutes but lacked sharpness in attack. Their best opportunity came from captain Carlos Delgado, whose header went wide of the goal. East Bengal’s defense remained organized during the closing stages and comfortably protected the clean sheet.
The victory gives East Bengal strong momentum as the team continues its campaign in the Indian Super League. The club has shown major improvement in recent matches, especially in attack, where players have combined effectively to create scoring chances.
For Odisha FC, the defeat increases pressure as the team continues to struggle near the lower end of the standings. The side will now look to improve its defensive organization and attacking efficiency in upcoming fixtures to keep hopes of a stronger finish alive.
East Bengal supporters will be encouraged by the team’s growing confidence and attacking form as the race for playoff positions becomes more competitive in the later stages of the ISL season.
