Dubai's Aviation Sector Soars with 95 Million Passengers

Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum has emphasized the remarkable achievements of Dubai’s aviation industry, acknowledging its pivotal role in linking global markets and bolstering the world economy. The sector continues to flourish under the guidance of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum.

He commended the staff at Dubai International Airport (DXB) for their hard work and efficiency. The airport operates under the stewardship of Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, who also oversees the civil aviation authority of Dubai and Emirates Airline Group.

During a recent visit to the airport, Sheikh Hamdan assessed passenger services, including the operations of Emirates Airline. He also toured the Dubai Police operations center to gain insights on the security measures and smart technologies deployed to ensure the safety and smooth experience of travelers.

Officials presented ongoing enhancements focused on leveraging advanced technology to boost efficiency, accelerate processes, and elevate passenger comfort. Innovations include smart systems designed to manage passenger flows and facilitate seamless airport experiences.

Sheikh Hamdan expressed his pride in the personnel at Dubai Airports, Emirates, and flydubai. He highlighted that the aviation ecosystem consistently upholds high safety and efficiency standards, even amidst evolving global challenges.

Additionally, he noted that Dubai Airports is crucial for the city’s economic growth and reinforces its position as a global hub. Future expansion efforts will center around innovation, infrastructure advancements, and nurturing talent to further boost Dubai’s global connectivity.

Sheikh Hamdan also examined the operations at Emirates Airline, commending its vital role in linking Dubai with the world. The airline currently services 123 destinations across 65 countries, reinforcing Dubai’s standing in international aviation. He praised the dedication of pilots and cabin crew for ensuring exceptional service quality.

He received updates about the airline’s Network Operations Control Centre, which employs cutting-edge technologies like artificial intelligence, computer vision, and real-time mapping. These systems are essential in monitoring flights, weather conditions, and global developments to guarantee timely operations and efficient cargo handling.

Dubai International Airport achieved a significant milestone in 2025 by handling over 95 million passengers. It has held the title of the world’s busiest international airport for the 12th consecutive year, with total flight operations reaching 454,800—a 3.3% increase from the previous year—indicating ongoing capacity growth and enhanced global connectivity.
