Dubai Unveils Cyprus Business Council to Enhance Trade Relations

In a strategic move to enhance economic ties with Cyprus, Dubai has launched the Cyprus Business Council through the Dubai Chamber of Commerce. This initiative provides a structured platform for businesses, investors, and innovators from both nations to network, share insights, and pursue investment possibilities.

This development underscores Dubai's expanding role as a global business hub for Cypriot enterprises. In 2024, non-oil trade between Dubai and Cyprus reached an impressive AED 588 million, indicating a consistent rise in commercial interaction. By the close of Q3 2025, 612 Cypriot firms were listed as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, with 71 new companies joining in the first nine months of this year.

The council's inaugural Annual General Meeting convened key figures, including His Excellency George Papanastasiou, Minister of Energy, Commerce and Industry of Cyprus, alongside representatives from the UAE Ministry of Economy and Tourism. This gathering demonstrated the shared commitment of both countries to cultivate enduring partnerships and explore pathways for technology sharing, joint ventures, and sustainable development.
