With a prize pool exceeding AED1 million, the top three clubs will be awarded based on their performance across all categories. Saturday will see preliminary matches, while the finals are slated for Sunday.
Competitors will vie across four categories: adults, under-18, under-16, and under-14. Match formats will adapt based on team participation, ensuring an exciting variety of best-of-three contests and round-robin matchups leading to the final stages.
The Vice President’s Jiu-Jitsu Cup is a key highlight in the UAE’s sporting calendar, recognized for its competitive atmosphere and strong presence from elite clubs.
Last year's event saw four different clubs share the accolades, with Sharjah Self-Defence Sports Club taking the under-14 title, Al Ain clinching the under-16 championship, Al Jazira winning the under-18 division, and Baniyas emerging victorious in the adult category. This demonstrated the increasing talent and competitive spirit within the clubs.
Fahad Ali Al Shamsi, the Federation’s Secretary-General, emphasized the tournament's significance in fostering team performance and assessing athletes’ readiness while contributing to the development of national talent.
Ribamar Santiago, Head Coach of Baniyas Jiu-Jitsu Club, pointed out that strategic planning becomes essential in team competitions, especially with the heightened preparation among clubs this year, promising a tougher competition.
