Dubai Municipality has entered into a Memorandum of Cooperation with the UAE Society of Engineers aimed at fortifying the engineering framework in Dubai, aligning it with global standards.
This partnership prioritizes the creation of systems to assess, classify, license, and qualify engineering professionals. The goal is to boost efficiency, readiness, and innovative practices, supporting the city’s vision to host international engineering and architectural events.
As part of the agreement, professional assessments necessary for engineering licenses in Dubai will be conducted. Assessments will utilize the Society of Engineers’ facilities, adhering to internationally accepted standards. Additionally, the collaboration includes establishing an engineering classification system that connects to both technical and professional exam performances.
Key joint initiatives outlined in the memorandum include:
Hosting international engineering and architectural events
Initiating training programs across diverse engineering fields
Running technical workshops and discussion forums
Developing digital resources for knowledge sharing, research, and best practices
Furthermore, the initiative champions youth-driven innovation, helping fledgling engineering projects while organizing field trips for engineers and students from both organizations to foster knowledge transfer.
