Dubai Media Retreat Charts Path for Future Media Growth

The Dubai Media Council successfully conducted the Dubai Media Retreat, gathering more than 100 industry leaders from the global media and digital landscape to deliberate the sector's future.

These leading firms account for approximately $13 billion in local economic activity, featuring major names like Amazon, Twitch, Xsolla, Action Films, Boom Town, Epic Films, and Blink Studios in the discussions.

The retreat covered crucial topics such as advertising, marketing, film production, gaming, and digital media. Leaders addressed challenges, emerging opportunities, infrastructure requirements, talent enhancement, regulations, and innovation.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, emphasized that media is a vital component of Dubai's development. He laid out the ambition for Dubai to create one of the world’s most progressive and competitive media landscapes.

He further connected this vision to the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), intending to double the media sector's contribution to Dubai’s GDP by fostering talent, investment, and innovation.

Her Excellency Mona Ghanem Al Marri announced the upcoming launch of an integrated digital platform aimed to streamline services and approvals into a single framework, aiding media companies in Dubai.

She noted how Dubai has consistently fostered an atmosphere conducive to creativity and storytelling, evolving from Dubai Media City to today’s thriving media ecosystem.

Her Excellency Nehal Badri remarked on the constructive discourse generated at the retreat, highlighting the importance of collaboration and open dialogue in enhancing the media landscape.

The insights gathered from this retreat will be compiled into a strategic report, guiding future policies and initiatives set forth by the Dubai Media Council, further solidifying Dubai’s status as a premier global media hub.
