The Dubai International Chamber has ceremoniously opened a new representative office in Manila, a strategic move aimed at fortifying business and trade relations between Dubai and the Philippines.

The opening event, held in Manila, was graced by distinguished guests such as Louise Araneta-Marcos, as well as senior officials and over 100 representatives from the local business landscape.

Prominent attendees included Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah, Mohamed Obaid Salem Al Qatam Alzaabi, and Ma. Anna Kathryna Yu-Pimentel.

Enhancing Economic Collaborations

During his address, Mohammad Ali Rashed Lootah expressed that the new Manila office mirrors Dubai’s unwavering dedication to fostering economic partnerships with the Philippines. He noted that the office is designed to help Filipino enterprises uncover opportunities in Dubai, utilizing the emirate’s status as a global nexus for growth.

Surging Trade and Expansion

This launch coincides with a notable rise in bilateral trade, with non-oil trade between Dubai and the Philippines hitting AED 3.58 billion in 2025, reflecting a 17% increase year-over-year.

By late 2025, 2,592 Filipino companies were recorded as active members of the Dubai Chamber of Commerce, showing a substantial 23.3% growth compared to the previous year, with an additional 856 new firms joining within the year.

Leveraging Solid Foundations

This initiative builds upon a successful trade mission from May 2025, which featured 17 Dubai-based firms and facilitated 180 bilateral interactions. A standout event was the “Doing Business with the Philippines” forum, which saw participation from over 300 attendees.

At this forum, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Dubai Chambers and the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry, aimed at enhancing collaboration and exploring new trading avenues.

Paving the Way for Future Growth

The Manila office is set to be a critical connection point for businesses from both regions, providing market insights, supporting Filipino firms entering Dubai, and assisting Dubai companies in broadening their reach into the Philippines through local partnerships.

This expansion aligns with the ‘Dubai Global’ initiative, which aspires to establish 50 international offices by 2030, further solidifying Dubai’s status as a prime global business hub.
