Punjabi sensation Diljit Dosanjh celebrates turning 42 today, January 6, and has gifted his fans a delightful surprise. He has teased his forthcoming international single “Senorita,” a collaboration with Colombian music star J Balvin.
Diljit posted the teaser on Instagram with the caption: “Birthday Surprise with The Pride of Colombia. Big Brother J Balvin. Hello Balvinistas.” The footage showcases colorful floral arrangements alongside an upbeat soundtrack that melds Punjabi and Latin influences for a festive atmosphere. J Balvin also makes a cameo toward the end of the clip. The complete video will premiere tomorrow, January 7.
J Balvin is a towering figure in the Latin music scene, with accolades such as 11 Billboard Latin Music Awards, 6 Latin Grammys, 5 MTV Video Music Awards, and 7 Latin American Music Awards. His breakout track, 6 AM featuring Farruko, released in 2014, and he notably became the first Latino artist to take the stage at major festivals such as Lollapalooza, Coachella, and Tomorrowland.
In addition, Diljit is gearing up for the release of Border 2, a war drama directed by Anurag Singh, which serves as a follow-up to the 1997 JP Dutta film Border. The cast features Diljit alongside Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Ahan Shetty, with supporting roles played by Mona Singh, Sonam Bajwa, Medha Rana, and Anya Singh.
On January 2, the team behind the film released the song Ghar Kab Aaoge, a modern rendition of the classic Sandese Aate Hain, performed by Diljit, Arijit Singh, Vishal Mishra, and Sonu Nigam. Produced by Gulshan Kumar and T-Series in collaboration with JP Films, Border 2 draws its narrative from the events of the 1999 Kargil conflict and will be in theaters starting January 23.
