Dhurandhar has quickly become the blockbuster Bollywood needed in 2025. Following a strong start with Chhaava, the film has revitalized the industry's spirits, dominating box office metrics and sparking widespread discussion. In an impressive span of just 21 days, it has amassed a staggering Rs 1006.7 crore worldwide, breaking multiple records throughout its run.

On its 21st day alone, the film collected Rs 26 crore, outpacing its opening day earnings of Rs 28 crore, a remarkable achievement in the film industry. Domestically, Dhurandhar's total earnings stand at Rs 668.80 crore, aided by a noteworthy occupancy rate of 50% on Day 21, up from its initial 33.81% on opening day across India.

Even with a slight decrease to 4,753 screens by Day 21, Dhurandhar continues to thrive in theaters, maintaining its place amid competition from new films like Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri, which debuted with 32.67% occupancy across 3,000 venues.

Ranveer Singh has made a remarkable comeback in his role, drawing favorable comparisons to his performances in Padmaavat and Bajirao Mastani. The film has also reignited interest in Akshaye Khanna, whose memorable scenes and viral dance have propelled him into stardom. Dhurandhar has overtaken the lifetime earning figures of Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Chapter 1, establishing itself as the highest-grossing Indian film for the year.

Importantly, Dhurandhar is now recognized as the highest-grossing A-rated Indian film worldwide, surpassing Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal.

Despite its commercial triumph, the film has drawn some criticism as being “well-crafted propaganda,” yet this has not affected its financial success.

Directed by Aditya Dhar, the film boasts a compelling ensemble cast that includes Sanjay Dutt, R. Madhavan, Rakesh Bedi, Arjun Rampal, and Sara Arjun. Jointly produced by Jio Studios and B62 Studios, Dhurandhar is already poised for further expansion with a sequel set to release on March 19, affirming its position as a significant franchise in Bollywood.
