The new anime movie Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle has arrived in theatres, and fans were excited to see how the story of Tanjiro and his friends would continue. Directed by Haruo Sotozaki, the film is filled with action, strong emotions, and beautiful animation. But many people feel the movie is too long and filled with too many flashbacks, which makes it less exciting than it could have been.

A Story of Demons and Humans

The world of Demon Slayer is built on a long war between humans and demons. The demons are led by Muzan Kibutsuji, while the Demon Slayer Corps works to protect humanity. Tanjiro, the main character, is fighting to save his sister Nezuko, who has turned into a demon. He also carries the pain of losing his family and dreams of becoming a top warrior called a Hashira.

In Infinity Castle, the heroes enter Muzan’s palace for a final battle. Alongside Tanjiro are Zenitsu and Inosuke, his close friends. The movie also shows the Hashiras, who are the strongest demon slayers. Together, they face powerful enemies in fights that decide the future of both humans and demons.

Too Many Flashbacks

One of the biggest problems with the film is its length. At 155 minutes, it runs for more than two and a half hours, which is almost like watching five episodes of the anime back-to-back.

The movie also has too many flashbacks. While flashbacks are used to show a character’s past or explain their powers, here they are repeated so often that the main story keeps getting interrupted. Viewers felt like the movie kept stepping back in time instead of moving forward. Some even joked that the film felt like it would never end.

Zenitsu’s Fight Saves the Film

Despite its problems, the film has many moments that shine. One of the best parts is the fight between Zenitsu and his old rival Kaigaku. This battle is exciting, emotional, and easy to follow. Zenitsu fights for revenge after Kaigaku betrayed their teacher. The scene is well-animated and shows Zenitsu’s growth as a warrior. Many fans felt this was the highlight of the movie.

The film also gives us a strong villain in Akaza, whose backstory is revealed during his battle with Tanjiro. The fight is full of energy, with broken swords, hidden powers, and dramatic moments. However, even here, the story slows down because of too many explanations.

Beautiful Animation and Music

One thing that cannot be denied is the quality of the animation. Every fight scene is drawn with care and detail. The characters’ movements, the sword fights, and the special powers are stunning to watch. The music also adds great energy, making some scenes truly unforgettable.

Fans who enjoy anime battles will find plenty to admire here. The movie is at its best when it lets the action speak for itself.

A Movie That Needed Better Editing

While the film has strong visuals and emotional moments, its biggest weakness is pacing. By adding too many flashbacks and explanations, the director made the movie feel much longer than it should have been. Instead of keeping the audience excited, it often left them tired.

This does not mean the movie is bad. It has all the elements of a great anime film: strong heroes, dangerous villains, and powerful themes about family, loyalty, and sacrifice. But it struggles to balance these elements into one smooth story.

Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle is a movie that gives fans big battles and beautiful animation but also tests their patience with too much backstory. It feels like three different films packed into one, and not all of it works.

For long-time fans of the series, it is still worth watching, as it moves the story forward and shows some unforgettable fights. But for casual viewers, the length and constant flashbacks may make it hard to enjoy fully.
