The International Emmy-winning drama Delhi Crime is back for a third season. The freshly released trailer, unveiled on Tuesday, teases a tense, emotionally charged investigation and introduces a new, ominous presence.

Shefali Shah reprises her role as DCP Vartika Chaturvedi, supported by Rajesh Tailang as Inspector Bhupendra Singh and Rasika Dugal as Neeti Singh IPS. This instalment revolves around a sprawling human-trafficking inquiry spearheaded by Huma Qureshi’s unsettling character, known as Badi Didi.

Plot and Key Highlights from the Trailer:

  • A truck carrying 30 young girls is stopped near Delhi, triggering a sprawling investigation that traces routes through Silchar, Mumbai, Surat and Rohtak.

  • Early evidence suggests the victims were deceived with fake employment offers before being sold within India or moved abroad.

  • Investigators also encounter a case in which a woman abandons her two-year-old at AIIMS trauma centre in Delhi—an incident that may link back to the trafficking network.

  • DCP Vartika pushes to form a special task force to connect the dots across these intertwined crimes.

  • Huma Qureshi’s Badi Didi is unveiled as the ring’s central figure, adding a dangerous new layer to the mystery.

  • The trailer hints at an international reach to the case, suggesting the probe could extend beyond India’s borders.

Directed by Tanuj Chopra, Delhi Crime Season 3 will begin streaming on November 13.

The series first arrived in March 2019 with a season inspired by the 2012 Delhi gang rape case. Season 2, released in August 2022, examined the Chaddi Baniyan Gang. In 2020 the show made history, winning the International Emmy Award for Best Drama Series.
