Trump’s Greenland Remarks Propel Gold and Defense
Gold and European defense stocks surge as fears of geopolitical tensions rise from Trump’s Greenland
Dallas Mavericks rookie Cooper Flagg etched his name into NBA history on Monday night, delivering a sensational 42-point performance against the Utah Jazz. At just 18 years old, Flagg became the highest-scoring teenager the league has ever seen, breaking LeBron James’ long-standing record of 37 points set in 2003.
Despite the historic night, the milestone came with disappointment as the Mavericks suffered a 140-133 overtime loss in Salt Lake City. Flagg made it clear after the game that individual records mean little without a win, especially after battling through an ankle injury late in regulation.
Along with his scoring outburst, the top overall draft pick showcased his all-around brilliance, finishing with seven rebounds and six assists. His performance placed him among an elite group of rookies to post at least 40 points, five rebounds and five assists in a single game over the past 15 years.
With Dallas missing several key players due to injuries, Flagg has quickly emerged as the focal point of the Mavericks’ offense. Head coach Jason Kidd praised the rookie’s rapid development, highlighting his growing confidence and court awareness.
Flagg was clutch in the fourth quarter, scoring 12 points and making a heads-up play by intentionally missing a free throw to force overtime. However, Utah closed strong, while Flagg went scoreless in the extra period.
Though records were broken, Flagg remains focused on growth and team success. For the teenage star, this historic night feels less like a destination and more like another step forward in a promising NBA journey.
