Canada’s Olympic Committee has officially named its bobsleigh team that will compete at the 2026 Milano Cortina Winter Games in Italy, fielding a strong delegation across multiple disciplines including monobob, two-woman, two-man and four-man events.

The team includes 14 athletes, combining seasoned Olympians with emerging talent, aiming to challenge for podium positions on the Cortina sliding track from mid-February. Among the women’s pilots is Melissa Lotholz, a veteran heading to her third Olympics, alongside Cynthia Appiah, who returns for her second Games, and Bianca Ribi, making her Olympic debut.

Canada will contest three sleds in the women’s two-woman event and two entries in the women’s monobob competition. The women’s crew also features experienced brakemen such as Kelsey Mitchell, an Olympic gold medallist in cycling who transitioned to bobsleigh, Dawn Richardson Wilson, and Skylar Sieben. Alternates Niamh Haughey and Eden Wilson provide depth to the roster.

On the men’s side, pilots Taylor Austin and Jay Dearborn headline Canada’s entries in both two-man and four-man events. Austin brings previous Olympic experience from Beijing 2022, while Dearborn has developed into a strong pilot after serving as a brakeman in past seasons. Supporting crew members include athletes such as Mike Evelyn O’Higgins, Shaq Murray-Lawrence, Keaton Bruggeling, Yohan Eskrick-Parkinson, Luka Stoikos and Mark Zanette, all contributing to Canada’s competitive push on the world stage.

The selection reflects Canada’s ongoing strength in bobsleigh, a sport in which the nation has historically excelled with multiple Olympic medals. Canada’s sleds will compete at the Cortina Sliding Centre, where events are scheduled throughout the second half of the Winter Games programme, with the women’s monobob and two-woman races opening the sliding competitions before the men’s events conclude the schedule.
