A Calgary man says he has been left feeling afraid and unsettled after his home was attacked four times in six days, prompting concern from neighbours and renewed calls for action from local police. The man, who has asked to remain anonymous for safety reasons, described a series of incidents outside his northwest Calgary residence that have damaged property and raised fears about his family’s well-being.
The attacks began earlier last week when the man reported that rocks were thrown at his windows, shattering glass and startling his household. On subsequent nights, he says intruders returned to damage his vehicle, front door and siding, leaving him and his family constantly on edge and unsure when the next incident might occur. He told reporters, “I can’t stress that enough — I’m scared,” adding that his children have been reluctant to sleep in their own rooms.
Neighbours expressed sympathy and said they too feel uneasy given the pattern of repeated targeting and the lack of clear motive. Some residents said they have considered installing additional security cameras and lighting after witnessing the escalating vandalism, while others said such vigilantism is rare in their normally quiet community.
The Calgary Police Service confirmed that officers have responded to multiple reports at the address and are actively investigating the incidents. A spokesperson said the investigation is “ongoing” and that police have increased patrols in the area to deter further occurrences, while encouraging anyone with information or video evidence to come forward.
Police have not yet identified any suspects or determined a motive behind the attacks. Investigators said that officers have been canvassing the neighbourhood and reviewing local surveillance footage in an effort to piece together what happened and identify anyone responsible.
The man said he has also reached out to community associations and local officials to raise awareness about the repeated attacks and to seek additional support. Some neighbours said they have considered organizing a community watch group to help keep an eye on the area and support one another.
Officials reminded residents to lock doors and windows, report suspicious behaviour immediately, and make use of community resources such as patrol programs or neighbourhood social media groups to share information safely.
The man’s experience highlights concerns about property crime and personal safety, with many in Calgary watching closely to see how the investigation unfolds and calling for swift action to prevent further harm.
