Bahrain's Hawar Resort Development Aims to Enhance Island Tourism

Fatima bint Jaffar Al Sairafi, Minister of Tourism and Chairperson of the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), engaged in discussions with Dennis de Groot, General Manager of Hawar Resort by Mantis. Ilhan Anil was also present during this important meeting.

Minister Al Sairafi underscored the significance of crucial tourism projects in bolstering Bahrain’s tourism landscape and enhancing sustainable tourism experiences throughout the kingdom. She remarked that the Hawar Resort represents a pivotal initiative aimed at reinforcing Bahrain’s status as a premier island tourism hub under the Tourism Strategy 2022–2026.

The minister further emphasized that waterfront venues and marine tourism initiatives hold a vital role in Bahrain’s tourism framework, contributing to the diversification of tourism offerings and elevating the country's attractiveness to both regional and global visitors.

The meeting touched upon various aspects related to bolstering Bahrain’s tourism sector. Topics included enhancing Bahrain's tourism appeal, exploring collaborative opportunities in ecotourism and opulent hospitality, and methodologies to amplify marketing efforts for Hawar Island, a key tourism asset in Bahrain.

Officials also deliberated on improving access between the attractions of Hawar Island and Bahrain’s broader tourism sites to draw more visitors and promote sustained tourism development within the kingdom.
