The war film Ikkis, helmed by the renowned Sriram Raghavan and produced by Maddock Films, continues to perform well at the box office since its premiere on January 1. This film is the theatrical debut for Agastya Nanda, the grandson of the iconic Amitabh Bachchan, who has garnered a total of Rs 26.35 crore in merely nine days.

On its ninth day, Ikkis saw an addition of Rs 85 lakh, showcasing persistent audience engagement. According to industry tracker Sacnilk, the Hindi film reported an overall occupancy rate of 11.57% on its second Friday (January 9). The attendance varied, with morning shows at 6.75%, afternoon shows at 10.43%, evening screenings at 13.36%, and night presentations achieving the highest rate at 15.74%.

Ikkis, set during the historic Battle of Basantar in the 1971 Indo-Pak war, narrates the valiant tale of Second Lieutenant Arun Khetarpal, who was only 21 when he lost his life and was awarded the Param Vir Chakra posthumously, India’s most esteemed military accolade. The film skillfully marries intense battle portrayals with poignant storytelling, offering a powerful cinematic journey.

The cast features notable actors including Dharmendra, Simar Bhatia, Vivaan Shah, Sikandar Kher, and Jaideep Ahlawat. The film holds special importance as Dharmendra's last performance prior to his passing in November at age 89. Before he departed, he encouraged everyone to support Ikkis, praising Sriram Raghavan for his directorial brilliance and the film's emotional resonance.

Combining gripping war narratives with strong performances and touching storytelling, Ikkis has emerged as one of the standout films this year, connecting with audiences nationwide.
