Abu Dhabi Celebrates Marine Sports for People of Determination

On Thursday, Abu Dhabi marked a significant day for People of Determination as Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, Chairman of the UAE Sailing and Modern Rowing Federation, honored the winners at the People of Determination Marine Sports Festival. This event underscored the UAE’s commitment to providing athletes with the chance to compete and shine in sports.

Organized by the Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club in partnership with Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination and supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, the festival ran smoothly, creating an inclusive atmosphere that allowed athletes to exhibit their marine sports skills.

The competitions included sailing and kayak rowing, during which the participants showcased remarkable skill and determination. Over 50 contestants joined in, displaying exceptional commitment and sportsmanship, turning the festival into a true celebration of talent and tenacity.

The ceremony saw the attendance of key figures including Ahmed Salem Al Shamsi, Director of Abu Dhabi Club for People of Determination; Rashid Al Falahi, Director of Support Services at Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Club; and Khalifa Al Suwaidi, Director of Abu Dhabi Marine Sports Academy. Sheikh Ahmed bin Hamdan Al Nahyan took the time to personally congratulate the victors, recognizing their dedication and hard work.

Khalifa Al Suwaidi highlighted that organizing such a festival embodies the UAE’s commitment to supporting People of Determination. By fostering an inclusive sporting environment, the UAE aims to motivate these athletes to showcase their talents and strive for higher achievements.
