The much-anticipated Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo cycling event, supported by the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, is set to take place on December 21, 2025. Covering a distance of 150 kilometers, the race will kick off at Hazza bin Zayed Stadium in Al Ain, concluding at the Sheikh Zayed Festival in Al Wathba, allowing participants to navigate through the stunning landscapes of the emirate.

This year's competition boasts a total prize pool of AED 2 million, encompassing 364 prizes—an increase of 44 prizes compared to the last edition. This expansion is a testament to the event's growing popularity and the organizers’ dedication to rewarding a larger array of competitors. The race draws interest from both amateurs and professionals, reinforcing Abu Dhabi's evolving status as an international cycling destination.

Preparations are already in full swing with the race village situated at the Sheikh Zayed Festival. Participants have begun picking up their race packs, technical apparel, and accessing the official race guide, which details the course, safety rules, checkpoints, and hydration points to ensure that everyone is ready for the big day.

A notable addition this year is a special Emirati category aimed at promoting local participation. Furthermore, the race will feature a staggered start time of 7:00 a.m., segmented by age, skill level, and type of participation to ensure a seamless competition for solos and teams alike.

With Tissot serving as the official timekeeper, the event promises to uphold high professional standards. The renowned Swiss brand, rooted in a rich history since 1853, has been synonymous with international cycling through its partnership with the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), ensuring that the Gran Fondo aligns with global precision and performance standards.

His Excellency Talal Al Hashemi, Executive Director of the Events Sector at the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, emphasized the race's significance in advancing the emirate’s long-term cycling ambitions. The revamped route, increased prize pool, and rising participant numbers signify Abu Dhabi's drive to become a premier cycling destination.

Race Director Adnan Shaheen shared his enthusiasm, noting the heightened energy among cyclists and the strong international participation expected for this fourth installment. He highlighted the influx of teams from abroad, demonstrating the event's growing global appeal.

The Bike Abu Dhabi Gran Fondo is part of the expansive Bike Abu Dhabi initiative, which promotes community health and tourism through various cycling events throughout the year.

Key sponsors for this year's race include Tissot, Burjeel Medical City, Bin Hamoodah Auto, Belmez Sports, Mubadala, Tadweer Group, Al Ain Water, Marathon, and Wolfi’s, with support from the Sheikh Zayed Festival, Department of Municipalities and Transport, Abu Dhabi Police, Hazza bin Zayed Stadium, and Al Qattara.
