Beginning May 15, 2026, the use of delivery motorcycles will be prohibited on designated high-speed roads in Abu Dhabi as part of the government’s initiative to enhance road safety and minimize traffic hazards.
The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC), functioning under Abu Dhabi Mobility, revealed that delivery bikes will be banned from roads with speed limits of 120 km/h or above.
This regulation will affect key routes, including Sheikh Zayed Street, particularly the stretch between Sheikh Zayed Bridge and Sheikh Zayed Tunnel.
Officials emphasized that the goal of this new policy is to elevate traffic safety standards while ensuring a secure environment for both delivery riders and general motorists on busy thoroughfares in the emirate.
According to authorities, this measure aims to shield delivery riders from threats associated with high-speed traffic and improve traffic flow on major transport routes.
The regulation is part of Abu Dhabi's continuous efforts to boost road safety and will be enforced starting May 15, 2026.
