The 2025 Global Soccer Awards gathered football's elite in a momentous celebration of talent and achievement. Legends, emerging stars, and ardent fans came together to honor remarkable contributions to the sport during a splendid ceremony. The event was graced by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, whose presence added significant prestige.
A highlight of the evening was when Paris Saint-Germain’s (PSG) phenom, Ousmane Dembélé, received the Best Men’s Player award, marking a significant career milestone. His performances have greatly engaged fans around the globe. On the women's side, Aitana Bonmatí from FC Barcelona claimed the Best Women’s Player award for the third year running, solidifying her status as one of women’s football's leading figures.
PSG had an extraordinary night, winning the Best Men’s Club title after a year filled with triumphs, including lifting the UEFA Champions League, UEFA Super Cup, Ligue 1, and Coupe de France. Individual honors were plentiful, with Luis Enrique taking the Best Coach title, Vitinha being named Best Midfielder, and emerging star Désiré Doué winning the Emerging Player award. Club leadership was also recognized, with Luis Campos honored as Best Sporting Director and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi as Best President.
On the women's front, it was a triumphant evening for FC Barcelona, receiving the Best Women’s Club award alongside Bonmatí's individual honors. Young talent Lamine Yamal, just 18 years old, made headlines by winning the Best Forward award and the prestigious Maradona Award, highlighting a promising future.
The ceremony honored football legends as well. Andrés Iniesta received a special career award for his contributions, including his historic goal in the 2010 FIFA World Cup. Japanese star Hidetoshi Nakata, a two-time AFC Player of the Year, was also recognized with a career award celebrating his lasting impact.
The evening turned emotional as tributes were paid to the late Diogo Jota, who tragically lost his life alongside his brother Andre Silva. A special award was presented to Jota’s parents, serving as a heartfelt remembrance.
