‘120 Bahadur’ Marks Milestone with Defence Theatre Screening

Excel Entertainment and Trigger Happy Studios are set to make a historic impact with their upcoming war drama, 120 Bahadur, which will be showcased across defence theatres in India. This marks the first time an Indian film will engage these audiences via PictureTime’s growing mobile cinema network, with a worldwide release on November 21.

In collaboration with GenSync Brat Media, PictureTime arranged for screenings in over 800 defence cinema halls nationwide. These venues cater primarily to soldiers and their families, often residing in remote areas where access to mainstream theatres is limited. The initiative aims to directly bring cinema to the armed forces community.

Sushil Chaudhary, Founder and CEO of PictureTime, remarked that this effort addresses a significant yet underserved audience. He emphasized that while India boasts 1.5 million active soldiers and numerous veterans and family members, very few have access to defence theatres. He shared that launching this expansive network with the screening of 120 Bahadur holds special significance due to the film’s emotional ties to the military.

Vishal Ramchandani, CEO of Excel Entertainment, expressed his appreciation for the film's early reach to those it aims to honour. He highlighted the privilege of having soldiers and their families as the first audience and credited PictureTime for facilitating this extensive outreach.

120 Bahadur draws inspiration from the Battle of Rezang La, a pivotal event in India’s military narrative. The film features a notable cast including Farhan Akhtar, Raashii Khanna, Sparsh Walia, Vivan Bhatena, Dhanveer Singh, Digvijay Pratap, Sahib Verma, Ankit Siwach, among others. Senior officers Ajinkya Deo and Eijaz Khan also feature prominently.

Directed by Razneesh ‘Razy’ Ghai, with production by Ritesh Sidhwani, Farhan Akhtar, and Amit Chandrra, the film is set to release in cinemas on November 21.
