Abu Dhabi — His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, has inaugurated the UAE Experts in Artificial Intelligence Programme, an ambitious effort designed to cultivate 100 AI specialists over the coming five years.
The initiative unfolds as a 12-month course that pairs classroom instruction with practical, on-the-ground experience, including organised visits to leading AI institutions abroad. Enrollees will work with advanced AI tools, learn research techniques and absorb international best practices to prepare them to steer AI projects at home and overseas.
Sheikh Mansour noted that the programme aligns with the UAE’s long-term strategy to secure a place among the world’s AI frontrunners. By investing in homegrown talent, the country aims to deepen its knowledge economy, spark innovation and provide critical expertise across strategic industries.
The launch took place during a meeting with alumni from the second and third cohorts of the UAE National Experts Programme at the UAE Government Annual Meetings in Abu Dhabi. Sheikh Mansour underscored the need to build national capacity in emerging technologies so the UAE can remain at the cutting edge of global AI progress.
The programme reflects a broader commitment to developing people as the foundation of technological leadership, supporting a sustainable, innovation-driven future. Graduates are expected to help accelerate digital transformation in sectors such as healthcare, energy, smart cities and public services.
Designed to become a flagship platform, the UAE Experts in Artificial Intelligence Programme will focus on nurturing talent, facilitating knowledge exchange and delivering AI solutions with tangible national impact.
