A month has passed since 79‑year‑old Ruth Carol Sutton went missing on May 25 in Grand Bay‑Westfield, New Brunswick. Her family is still hoping for answers .

Her son says the family is feeling “a mix of grief, worry and hope.” Even though it's been a long time, there has been no new sign of her. For the family, every day brings unanswered questions—and a shared wish that she’s safe somewhere .

RCMP and local volunteers have been searching the area. On Monday, they looked in the Shogomoc River, just southwest of where Ruth was last seen. So far, their efforts haven’t found any sign of her—but search teams are continuing to check water, forest, and shore areas.

When people go missing in rural places like this, time is especially important. The RCMP says anyone who was in Grand Bay‑Westfield around May 25—especially drivers, walkers, cyclists—can help by calling them or Crime Stoppers with even small details about suspicious activity.

Sutton is described as 5′ 4″, weighing about 130 lb, with short grey hair and glasses. She may have been wearing a blue jacket, black pants, and carrying a red umbrella .

As the month mark passed, the family released a new photo of her smiling. Her son said she means “everything to us,” and they’re pleading for anyone who may have seen her to come forward. Even a phone call could give them important hope.

Time is of the essence. They’re worried as each day goes by, but they stay determined with every bit of assistance and new information .
