A scheduled performance of Shen Yun in Toronto was cancelled on Sunday afternoon after a bomb threat was reported at the venue. The incident caused concern among attendees, but authorities later confirmed that there was no real danger.

According to the Toronto Police Service, officers were called to the area near Queen Street West and University Avenue at around 1:15 p.m. following reports of a possible bomb threat. After investigating the situation, police stated that the threat appeared to be unfounded and no suspicious items were found.

The performance, which was scheduled for 2 p.m. at the Four Seasons Centre for the Performing Arts, was cancelled as a precaution. Officials confirmed that the decision to cancel the show was made by the event organizers to ensure the safety of all guests and staff.

In a message sent to ticket holders, the Falun Dafa Association of Toronto explained that the theatre had received an email containing the bomb threat. The organization apologized for the sudden cancellation and assured the public that safety was the top priority.

Organizers also noted that similar threats have been reported in the past at venues hosting Shen Yun performances worldwide. They stated that many of these incidents were later confirmed as hoaxes after thorough police investigations. Despite the repeated threats, there has been no confirmed case of an actual attack.

To prevent future disruptions, additional security measures will be introduced for upcoming shows. These include increased screening procedures and K-9 security checks before each performance. Organizers said these steps are being taken to ensure a safe environment for all attendees.

Ticket holders affected by the cancellation have been given options to either exchange their tickets for another show in the coming days or use them for future performances. Authorities have reassured the public that the situation is under control and there is no ongoing risk.
