On Wednesday, Jhonatan Narváez showcased his remarkable skills by clinching Stage 11 of the Giro d’Italia with UAE Team Emirates-XRG. The Ecuadorian national champion brought home the team's fourth stage victory, navigating the demanding hills that connect Tuscany and Liguria.
In a nail-biting finish, Narváez outpaced Enric Mas from Movistar Team in a thrilling two-man sprint. Mas placed second after a fierce contest for the top spot.
Although Narváez and his teammates initially lagged behind the early breakaways, they regrouped effectively, aiding the 29-year-old in closing the gap to the leaders.
This victory underscores UAE Team Emirates-XRG's impressive performance in Giro d’Italia 2026, having secured four stage triumphs in just 11 days.
Following Stage 11, Afonso Eulálio of Bahrain Victorious leads the general classification with a total time of 44:17:41. In second place is Jonas Vingegaard of Visma-Lease a Bike, trailing by 27 seconds, while Thymen Arensman of Netcompany Ineos holds third, 1 minute and 57 seconds off the lead.
