Tehran Strikes Saudi Base After Israel hits nuclear sites

Tensions in the Middle East have sharply escalated after Iran launched a military strike on a Saudi Arabian air base in response to Israeli attacks on its nuclear facilities. The attack targeted the Prince Sultan Air Base in Saudi Arabia, where U.S. forces are stationed, resulting in injuries to at least 10 American troops. Officials confirmed that two of the injured soldiers are in serious condition.

The Iranian strike also caused damage to several aircraft, including refuelling planes. The attack is seen as a direct retaliation after Israel carried out airstrikes on key nuclear-related sites inside Iran earlier the same day.

According to Iranian authorities, two major facilities were targeted in the Israeli operation — a heavy water complex in Arak and a uranium processing site in Yazd province. While Iran reported no casualties or radiation risk, Israeli officials described the strikes as a significant blow to Iran’s nuclear capabilities.

Following the attacks, Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi warned that Israel would face serious consequences, signaling a strong retaliatory stance. Shortly after, Iran launched missiles not only toward Saudi Arabia but also toward Israeli territory, further intensifying the conflict.

Air raid sirens were reported in several areas of Israel, including regions near sensitive facilities. Emergency services responded to multiple impact sites, and casualties were reported as the situation worsened. The continued exchange of missile and drone attacks has raised fears of a wider regional war.

Meanwhile, the United States is pushing for a diplomatic solution to prevent further escalation. Donald Trump has claimed that efforts to negotiate a ceasefire are progressing, although Iran has denied engaging in direct talks. The U.S. has reportedly proposed conditions for de-escalation, including reopening key shipping routes and limiting nuclear activities.

The conflict has also affected strategic global routes. The Strait of Hormuz remains a major concern, as disruptions there are impacting oil supply and increasing global economic pressure. Iran has maintained control over the route, adding to tensions with international powers.

In addition to Saudi Arabia, other Gulf countries have reported attacks and damage to infrastructure. Missile and drone strikes have affected ports and facilities, showing that the conflict is expanding beyond its initial areas.
