Dellen Millard Relocated to Medium Security Facility

Dellen Millard, who was found guilty of three counts of first-degree murder, has been moved from a maximum-security institution to a medium-security prison, as confirmed by officials.

Millard received his conviction for the murder of 32-year-old Tim Bosma in 2013, a case that involved luring Bosma for a test drive. In his 2016 trial, evidence surfaced showing that Bosma’s remains were incinerated in an animal crematory owned by Millard.

In addition, he was convicted in 2017 for the killing of 23-year-old Laura Babcock and in 2018 for murdering his father, Wayne Millard, whose death was initially classified as a suicide. He is currently sentenced to three consecutive life terms, amounting to 75 years without the possibility of parole—the longest sentence in Canadian legal history.

Correctional officials noted that medium-security environments have safeguards comparable to those found in maximum-security facilities. They clarified that inmate transfers are conducted with public safety in mind and can be reversed if conditions warrant a return to higher security.

Sharlene Bosma, widow of Tim, along with his parents, expressed profound dismay and anger regarding the transfer, condemning the justice system for allegedly prioritizing inmate rights over the needs of victims’ families.
