On a significant day for the University of Doha for Science and Technology (UDST), the institution celebrated the graduation of its inaugural Class of 2026 on Tuesday. Under the patronage of HE Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al-Thani, the ceremony was a remarkable occasion.
With a total of 1,321 graduates this year, the students hailed from various academic backgrounds. Specifically, 484 students completed their studies in the College of Business, 285 from the College of Computing and Information Technology, 341 from the College of Engineering and Technology, and 211 from the College of Health Sciences.
During the festive event, HE Minister of Education and Higher Education Lolwah bint Rashid bin Mohammed Al Khater awarded 250 exemplary students for their outstanding performance.
HE Dr. Abdulaziz bin Nasser bin Mubarak Al Khalifa, President of the Civil Service and Government Development Bureau and Secretary General of the National Planning Council, shared motivational words with the graduates. He emphasized Qatar’s national vision while underscoring the importance of education, responsibility, and innovation for a sustainable future.
Dr. Salem Al-Naemi, President of UDST, congratulated the graduates, highlighting their exceptional journey through a demanding academic year that underscored the effectiveness of applied education and hands-on learning.
He mentioned the university’s ambitious plans, now featuring 80 academic programs, including newly introduced master’s, bachelor’s, and diploma programs in critical areas such as midwifery, health administration, animal health, and veterinary science.
Additionally, UDST is prioritizing applied research and advanced training across sectors like renewable energy, food security, digital transformation, and health technologies. The university has also laid out a new strategy aimed at achieving carbon neutrality, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030.
With modern labs, simulation tools, and industry partnerships, students gained vital real-world experience that readied them for the workforce.
The valedictorian, Mohamad Al-Qassabi, shared his pride in representing his classmates in this momentous ceremony.
This graduation is a significant milestone for UDST, reflecting its dedication to a practical educational approach that meets actual industry needs.
