The Abu Dhabi Department of Economic Development (ADDED), alongside Majalis Abu Dhabi and the Abu Dhabi Social Support Authority, has introduced the “Entrepreneurial Families Initiative” in the Al Ain Region. This initiative aims to assist families interested in starting and expanding their own businesses.

Focused on boosting family involvement in Abu Dhabi's economy, this initiative aligns with the emirate's vision for a diverse, knowledge-based economy driven by innovation and entrepreneurship.

A range of awareness workshops will be conducted at various locations in Al Ain, instructing participants on how to establish businesses, acquire licenses, and leverage available government support services within Abu Dhabi’s business landscape.

The program will utilize community platforms in collaboration with Majalis Abu Dhabi to foster direct interaction with local residents and intended audiences.

This initiative is part of ADDED’s comprehensive efforts to bolster small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), enhance private sector involvement, and advocate for sustainable economic growth by easing market access and raising awareness of business regulations.

Participants will also gain insights into the services and regulations provided by the Abu Dhabi Registration Authority, which, under ADDED, plays a pivotal role in managing and cultivating the emirate’s business sector.

Workshop topics will cover essential areas such as business registration protocols, licensing needs, regulatory frameworks, and available support services tailored for entrepreneurs.

In addition to the workshops, specialized training programs will occur throughout the year, focusing on e-commerce, financial management, and opportunities in the digital economy and priority sectors.

His Excellency Hamad Sayah Al Mazrouei, Undersecretary of ADDED, stated that this initiative demonstrates Abu Dhabi’s dedication to broadening economic participation and enhancing the emirate’s competitiveness in a future-ready economy.

He emphasized the significant role of the Al Ain Region in Abu Dhabi’s economic strategy, noting a 29 percent increase in newly issued economic licenses in the region during 2025.

His Excellency Mohammed Alshaiba Al Sharyani, Acting Director General of Economic Affairs at ADDED, remarked that the initiative was launched in collaboration with the Abu Dhabi Department of Community Development, Khalifa Fund for Enterprise Development, Majalis Abu Dhabi, and key e-commerce partners to provide essential skills and business knowledge to communities.

He stressed that the initiative aims to empower participants to fully leverage Abu Dhabi’s business-friendly environment while promoting inclusive economic development, job creation, and productivity enhancements across the emirate.
